Skate4Smiles in Memory of Dawson Ellert

We didn't know what would happen when we announced Skate4Smiles 2015 would be our last Skate-a-thon.

 Would the sponsors come?

Would the children come?

 We had high hopes and high goals, maybe too high.  We hoped Skate4Smiles 2015 would be bigger than all others before it even though each one before had been so big.

It was...

Around February, Carla announced that she'd like to reach $500,000 - we'd need $110,000 from a skate-a-thon to do that.  Was that even possible?

 It was . . .

Skate4Smiles 2015 did raise $110,000 for the Children's Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan.  There were more activities, more prizes, more sponsors, more skaters, and best of all, more smiles than ever before.

We will forever mourn the passing of our amazing little boy but we will never forget the kindness and generosity of the family, friends and sponsors that made Skate4Smiles possible.

 The best we can do to repay the support we've been blessed with is to carry on the legacy of our son - to be kind, to love, to respect the planet and all the things on it that he loved so much...

and to smile . . .
